Introducing the new Western Safety Group
A newly-formed Western Safety Group has been organized to allow the western drilling companies, suppliers, government officials and mining companies to meet together 4 times a year to discuss safety issues that affect our industry. Rod Cyr took on the responsibility to organize these meetings.
The first took place on May 5, 2006 in Winnipeg, with a second in Saskatoon on Sept 8, 2006 and a third in Vancouver on Nov 3, 2006; more meetings were held in 2007 and 2008. Hopefully one of these meetings will be scheduled to be a joint meeting with the Eastern Safety Group, which has been in existence for many years.
